“The business was closed at the time of the shooting, and nobody was injured or present in the business at the time,” said a police statement.

Investigators are on scene working to determine a motive. Currently, the SPS says “there are no established ties to any extortion investigations.”

“It’s the first thing that jumps to people’s minds. So that’s why we want to let the public know that that this isn’t one of those incidents or doesn’t at this stage appear to be one of the incidents,” explained Sgt. Tige Pollock.

He tells 1130 NewsRadio that factor of the investigation is unlikely to change.

“Officers will continue to canvas for both video and physical evidence and speak with witnesses and hope that we can identify the suspects.”

Anyone with information about the incident, the identity of the suspect, or with video to share should contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-89401.
