The Langley RCMP says it is investigating a hit and run involving an unmarked Abbotsford Police vehicle.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 264th Street near 52nd Avenue in Langley after reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Mounties say that an on-duty Abby PD officer was driving when they collided with a white GMC Canyon pickup truck.

Police are working to identify the truck occupants, who left on foot after the crash.

“The Langley RCMP is leading the investigation and have enlisted the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), to assist in determining the cause of the collision,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano.

“We are requesting anyone who may have been driving in the area with dash cam footage or had witnessed the crash or know who was in the vehicle but have not yet spoken to police to call the Langley RCMP. The investigation is in its infancy and ongoing.”

The Abby PD officer sustained minor injuries.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 604-532-3200.
