The RCMP says it is investigating after a shooting Sunday morning that resulted in one person dead and another seriously injured in Chilliwack Sunday morning.
Mounties and BC Emergency Health Services crews were called to a home on Mellard Avenue shortly after 8:30 a.m., where they found two people suffering from injuries.
“One of the individuals was pronounced deceased on scene, and the other was transported to hospital with serious injuries,” police said in a news release.
“There is a heavy police presence in the area, and the Chilliwack RCMP are asking the public to stay away as the situation unfolds.”
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating and says it will provide more information at a later time.
