The RCMP says a British Columbian man was charged after a search warrant was executed in downtown Halifax last week.

Police say the man was arrested and a residence was searched just before 5 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, on Brenton Street, off of Spring Garden Road, following what the Mounties call a “lengthy investigation.”

“At the home, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), cash, jewelry and a switchblade knife,” reads a release from the RCMP.

Mustafa Abdul Al-Rikabi, 28, from Surrey, is facing charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and weapon possession offences.

Al-Rikabi was in court on Monday and has been released on conditions, with another court date set for January, according to police.
