York Regional Police say a home in Vaughan that was struck by gunfire early Wednesday morning — the second time it’s been shot at this month — is linked to the owner of a tow truck company who was murdered in 2024.

Police say they received multiple 911 calls around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday reporting the sound of gunshots on Farrell Road in the Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive area.

When officers arrived, they confirmed that unknown suspects had shot at a home.

No injuries were reported.

Police confirm the same home was targeted in a shooting earlier this month.

A witness described a silver or white SUV fleeing northbound on Farrell towards Alison Ann Way.

In an update Wednesday afternoon, police said a second shooting took place shortly after on Allison Ann Way. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Investigators say the incidents “are targeted between specific individuals” and are not random.

Officers remain in the neighbourhood, canvassing for witnesses and collecting evidence. Authorities are warning residents to expect a heavy police presence throughout the day.

Back in 2024, 39-year-old Alexander Vinogradsky, the owner of Paramount Towing, was shot and killed in North York.

Investigators confirmed on Wednesday that Vinogradsky was linked to the address (306 Farrell Road) of Wednesday’s shooting, but didn’t elaborate.

Six shootings in the area in recent weeks

The two incidents early Wednesday marked the fifth and sixth shootings in Vaughan in September at four different addresses. Two of those shootings took place at 306 Farrell Road — the home with ties to Vinogradsky.

Police say all six of the shootings are linked.

Earlier this month, York Regional Police confirmed that three homes and a vehicle were targeted in separate shootings over the span of two days, with suspects fleeing in a dark‑coloured sedan in each case.
