Woman injured in Scarborough shooting, home struck by bullets

A woman suffered serious injuries after she was shot in Scarborough late Wednesday night.

Toronto police were called to a residential neighbourhood at McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue just after 11 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Officers found a female victim in her 20s who had been shot. She was taken to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said it’s unknown whether the woman was targeted in the shooting or if she was an innocent bystander.

A house was also struck by gunfire, with authorities indicating that there was a resident inside the home at the time.

There is no word on any suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
