Three people are in custody, and police are searching for one other person following a robbery in Etobicoke.

Police say they were called to The Queensway and Kipling Avenue area around 3:30 p.m. Sunday for reports of a robbery in progress at a cell phone store.

“During the investigation, there was a collision involving police vehicles and the suspect vehicle,” Toronto police said in a social media post.

One suspect was taken into custody immediately, and two others were captured after fleeing the scene. One person remains outstanding.

Police later confirmed that another vehicle, not related to the robbery, was involved in the crash on Kipling Avenue near Jutland Road. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.

Investigators say two officers sustained minor injuries, and one of the suspects arrested was transported to the hospital.

The Special Investigations Unit has not been called in to investigate at this time.
