Environment Canada is noting strong winds are sticking around Waterloo Region, bringing a cold front with them.
The forecast shows that winds between 70 to 90 km/h are possible overnight into Tuesday. With it, a “sharp artic” cold front moves into the region. The winds are expected to veer to the west overnight and ease as Tuesday morning gets underway.
However, the weather agency is warning that the high winds can toss objects or cause branches to break. Local power outages are also possible.
Some precipitation may also show, according to the forecast. Environment Canada notes it should be snow bringing further risk of it blowing across roadways.
Temperatures fell dramatically over Monday, which started out around 12 C.
Overnight, it could feel as cold as -22 with the wind chill, “warming” to -17 by Tuesday morning.
