Regional police have arrested a man from Milton in connection to a hate-motivated incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.
Around 12:10 a.m., police received calls of a disturbance near Wellington Street South in Kitchener.
Officers say man attempted to steal a takeout order before allegedly assaulting a victim and spewing hate speech.
The man then allegedly exposed himself to the victim before taking off. No physical injuries were reported from the incident.
Police were able to locate the suspect, a 36-year-old man, shortly after.
He’s been charged with theft under $5,000 as well as indecent act.
