The Kitchener Rangers earned a road win on Sunday night against the Oshawa Generals to add a silver lining to a tough week.

Rangers defenceman Alexander Bilecki scored a goal and added two assists as the Blueshirts tied their season high of six goals in a game en route to a 6-2 win over the Gens.

The Generals came into the game with two straight shutouts, but crumbled against the Blueshirts.

With the win, the Rangers pull within two points of the Midwest Division-leading Owen Sound Attack with three games in hand.

On Thursday, the CHL announced that the Guelph Storm will host the 2027 Memorial Cup, winning their bid in a tight race against the Kitchener Rangers. Since that announcement, the Storm have lost three straight games, including a 5-1 loss in Windsor on Sunday.

The Rangers take the week off before hosting the Niagara Ice Dogs on Friday.
