Highway 85 closed overnight for serious crash

One person was seriously hurt, suffering life-altering injuries, in a late-night crash on Highway 85 in Waterloo.

Just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) posted on social media that a single vehicle had crashed near Northfield Drive West.

Though it was serious, the individual’s injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Highway 85 northbound was closed at Northfield for a couple of hours for clean-up and the investigation.

OPP reported one lane was reopened just after 1 a.m. Thursday, the highway was fully reopened around 5 a.m.
