Police found what they said was a drunk driver passed out in the middle of the afternoon in Guelph.

Officials said a call came in soon before 4:00, Monday afternoon, from the Woodlawn Road West and Dawson Road area.

A witness told police there was a woman passed out in a running vehicle.

Officers came out and found her, and immediately picked up a strong scent of alcohol.

Police said she was unsteady on her feet, so the officers arrested her and took her to a police station for further testing.

Police allege she had three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

The 37-year-old from Ariss was charged with impaired driving.

Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
