Road safety is at the top of mind in the City of Waterloo.
A new report by city staff shows new data on what streets in the city see the most collisions.
According to that report, there have been 2,808 collisions on city streets over a five-year period.
This included 71 collisions involving pedestrians and 54 collisions involving cyclists.
The data was collected during 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The report notes that 2020 and 2021 were not included because of “anomalies observed in collision data during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Several streets have been highlighted for new road safety measures, including by collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, as well as driver speed.

The report will be shared with Waterloo City Council during their meeting on Monday Nov. 24, starting at 2 p.m.
