This Sunday will mark four years since the murder of Lee’Marion Shancez Cain.

The eight-year-old was killed in a shooting on December 21, 2021, near the intersection of Windmill Road and Waddell Avenue.

Halifax Regional Police said shots were fired from one vehicle at another, hitting Lee’Marion and a 26-year-old man. The child died of his injuries in hospital, while the man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Video footage has been a key part of the investigation and has shown that at least two suspects were involved in the homicide,” read a media release from HRP. “The suspects aredescribed as Black men in their 20s-30s who were driving a burgundy Chevrolet Traverse, with tinted windows.”

Police say investigators know there are people with helpful information, and say even the smallest piece could progress the investigation.

The case is part of the Nova Scotia rewards for major unsolved crimes program, offering cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible.
