A Lake Loon man is facing a long list of charges, including attempted murder, after shots were fired in East Preston on Wednesday.
The RCMP said officers responded to reports of shots fired at a vehicle on Highway 7 just before 8 a.m.
A woman was driving when a man got out of his vehicle and fire shots toward her.
She was not hurt, and police say the two are known to each other, calling this a case of intimate partner violence.
Police said Colin Edward O’Malley, 42, of Lake Loon, is charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Discharging firearm with intent
- Discharge firearm — recklessness
- Careless use of a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of firearm knowing possession unauthorized
- Possession of restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of break-in instrument
- Fail to comply with release order
Police said he was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Friday.
