Six townhouses were damaged and a dog died in a fire that broke out in the southeast Calgary community of Seton Saturday.
The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) says it responded to Union Avenue and Main Street at around 9:30 p.m.
CFD Battalion Chief Scott Cowen says the six townhouses had 10 units that were impacted by the fire.
One person suffering from minor injuries was treated on the scene.
Cowen says a dog was found dead, while CFD later clarified Sunday that one other was safely evacuated. A cat was also rescued.
It’s not clear how many people were evacuated from the homes, but the Red Cross facilitated their evacuation. At least 10 people have been displaced.

Calgary police were called to the area to help with crowd control and evacuations.
An investigation into the cause is underway.
Several people posted photos and a video of the blaze to social media, including on the r/Calgary Reddit thread, X, TikTok, and Facebook.
