RCMP are warning of the release of a high-risk offender who will be living on Siksika Nation.

Police say Cody George Manyshots has completed his federal prison sentence as of Monday.

He has been convicted of multiple offences, including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, assault, kidnapping, sexual assault causing bodily harm, robbery, and uttering threats.

Manyshots and his brother Corey were each sentenced to 12 years in prison after kidnapping a 17-year-old girl from a northeast bus stop and raping her at their home in Martindale in November 2014.

Corey was released in May, which also prompted a ‘high-risk offender’ warning from police.

The notice of Manyshots’ release comes after careful deliberation and consideration of issues such as privacy, according to the RCMP.

It adds that making this information available is in the best interest of the public.

“The RCMP believes that there is a risk of significant harm to the health and safety of the public,” it said in a statement.

The RCMP has also made an application to the courts to have Manyshots bound by conditions when he is released. It says these conditions are to help with his reintegration back into the community and for public safety.

This information is not being released for members of the community to embark on any vigilante action, RCMP say. Anyone who believes a crime has been or is about to be committed is encouraged to call police.

Manyshots is 32-years-old, 5’9″ and 161 pounds. He has a medium complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes.
