Calgary defenceman Rasmus Andersson has been named the NHL’s first star of the week after helping the Flames post their first three-game winning streak of the season.

Andersson led the NHL with nine points (two goals, seven assists) over four games.

Calgary opened the week with a 5-3 loss to Chicago before posting wins over Buffalo (6-2), Dallas (3-2, shootout) and Vancouver (5-2).

The wins moved Calgary out of last place in the Western Conference and within six points of a playoff spot.

Columbus defenceman Zach Werenski had three goals and five assists over four games to claim second-star honours.

San Jose forward Macklin Celebrini had four goals, including a hat trick and two game-winners, and three assists in four games and was named third star.
