Cadillac Fairview (CF) has announced the launch of its first residential rental development in Calgary, marking the company’s entry into the city’s housing market.
CF representatives gathered at a development site on Thursday for the groundbreaking of a massive new rental development. The project, located on 61 Avenue SW near the Chinook Centre mall and the Chinook LRT station, is part of the company’s broader expansion into residential real estate across Canada.
The development will feature 490 purpose-built rental units distributed across two towers—20 and 19 storeys—connected by a multi-storey podium.
The complex will include amenities such as co-working spaces, lounges, wellness facilities, and outdoor public areas. Plans also include four parking levels and direct access to public transit, aligning with transit-oriented development principles.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month, with initial occupancy anticipated in summer 2028.
The Calgary project is Cadillac Fairview’s fourth major residential initiative across the country, following developments in Ottawa, downtown Montreal, and the Montreal Metropolitan Area.
