Calgary police are continuing their investigation into a credit card theft that resulted in more than $23,500 in fraudulent purchases and are reiterating their calls for the public’s help in identifying two male suspects still at large.
The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, when a man was captured on residential CCTV stealing an unopened piece of mail from the porch of a home on 70 Avenue SW west of Elbow Drive.
The stolen mail contained a newly issued credit card belonging to a Calgary woman.
Investigators believe the suspects used personal information from the stolen mail to activate the card and make unauthorized purchases at multiple Home Depot locations across the city.
The victim reported the theft three days later, after her bank flagged suspicious activity that had exceeded the card’s limit.
Police have since identified a female suspect connected to the case, but the two male suspects remain unidentified. Officials are urging anyone with information about their identities to come forward.
The first male suspect, believed to have stolen the mail, was wearing a black baseball cap, a white hoodie, and black pants. He was seen leaving the area in a silver SUV.
The second male suspect, captured on CCTV at Home Depot, is described as having a medium build, dark hair, and a beard. He was wearing a blue hoodie, blue shorts, black shoes, and sunglasses.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Calgary police at 403-266-1234. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
