Calgary police have provided an update following the discovery of human remains at Nose Hill Park last week.

In an update on Monday, investigators now believe the death is non-criminal in nature. While final autopsy results are still pending, preliminary findings suggest the case is not suspicious.

It was Friday morning when a pedestrian near the east edge of Nose Hill Park at 14 Street and 64 Avenue NW reported finding what appeared to be human remains.

Officers responded just before 11 a.m., launched a search of the area, and urged Calgarians to avoid the park while the investigation was underway. At the time, police closed sections of Nose Hill Park and continued searching through the weekend.

Calgary Police confirmed that early results indicate the death is not suspicious. They emphasized that, while awaiting the final autopsy report, they do not anticipate releasing further details about the case.
