The West Kelowna RCMP says two people were arrested Friday in connection with an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.

The arrests were made as Mounties searched a home on Rutland Road in Kelowna, where they seized “various controlled substances, cash, and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking activities.”

“The residence had been identified as a problem property and, being situated directly across from Rutland Middle School, it has raised significant community safety concerns,” said Cpl. Achtymichuk.

Police say a previous search warrant was executed on Dec. 11 at a home on Scott Crescent in West Kelowna as part of the same investigation.

Mounties ask members of the public to report any drug trafficking or illegal weapons to police.
