When police confronted the man, he allegedly began throwing items from the 11th-floor unit onto the street below.

Around 9 p.m., police entered the suite and used a “conducted energy weapon” to take the man into custody.

The VPD shut down the street below Capitol Residences in Vancouver on Tuesday, March 31.

A 33-year-old man was taken to hospital for assessment before being transferred to the VPD jail.
