In an email to 1130 NewsRadio, TransLink confirmed that the cause of the track issues were a fire.

Due to a small fire that was quickly put out between Patterson and Joyce–Collingwood stations, Expo Line customers are currently experiencing some delays,” said TransLink spokesperson Thor Diakow.

“SkyTrain Technicians are working on the track to restore normal service.”

TransLink says the delays started at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

Passengers should board on platform 2 at Metrotown and Patterson Station until further notice.

The Millennium Line and the Canada Line are unaffected.
