Police are investigating after an explosion and subsequent house fire near Surrey’s Green Timbers Urban Forest Park Monday night.
First responders reportedly reached the scene on 100A Avenue near 140 Street around 9:15 p.m.
CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO 1130 NEWSRADIO VANCOUVER LIVE!Surrey Fire Services crews worked to knock down the fire, while Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers discovered a person, who paramedics took to hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.”
RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) has taken over investigating the cause of the explosion. Police say it does not appear to be related to extortion crimes.
