The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) reports 69 active wildfires as of 6 p.m. on Monday.
According to the BCWS, some areas of the province will see smokier conditions as a result of those ongoing wildfires.

In fact, firesmoke.ca forecasts a concentration of up to 120 PM2.5 for some parts of the Lower Mainland. PM refers to Particulate Matter, and it is one of the most important outdoor air pollutants. It refers to fine particles that are 2.5 microns or smaller in diameter.

The majority of the fires are under control or are being held, which means that they are not expected to grow and remain within the current perimeter.
15 fires, however, are out of control and can grow in size. Those fires have prompted four evacuation alerts and four evacuation orders.
Most recently, an evacuation order was issued for an area east of Princeton on Saturday. The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen downgraded its evacuation order near August Lake and the Princeton Golf Club to an alert on Monday.
The August Lake fire is currently 14 hectares in size and categorized as out of control.
A fire that was discovered on Monday and is burning out of control is located in the Grass Lake area, just about 40 kilometres west of Victoria. BCWS says it is measuring 1.2 hectares in size.
While most fires are located in the northeast of B.C., there are currently nine fires burning in the Coastal Fire Centre region, the area with the highest population density of the province.
According to BCWS, 326 firefighting personnel are supporting local firefighters in the affected areas across the province.
Additionally, 69 aircraft are deployed to help the firefighting efforts from the air.
