The change was first approved in 2021 after extensive planning, risk assessment, and validation processes.

“The establishment of two autonomous detachments marks a significant step forward, allowing for more dedicated resources, enhanced local oversight, and a stronger focus for each community. This transition supports more responsive, effective policing services that are better aligned with the unique needs and priorities of Pitt Meadows-helping to build a safer, more connected community for years to come,” said Pitt Meadows Mayor Nicole MacDonald.

The newly constructed Pitt Meadows RCMP Detachment will be located at 12486 Harris Road and non-emergency phone number is 778-670-9010.

As the Pitt Meadows’ new detachment completes its transition, front counter police services are available at the Community Policing Office located behind City Hall at 104-12027 Harris Road. An announcement will be made once services transfer to the new detachment.

“Maple Ridge moves forward with a dedicated Maple Ridge RCMP presence focused on the needs of our community, and residents can be assured they will continue to receive the same high standard of professional policing services,” said Maple Ridge Mayor Dan Ruimy

The former Ridge Meadows Detachment facility has been renamed as the Maple Ridge RCMP Detachment and will retain the same address (11990 Haney Place) and non-emergency phone number, 604-463-6251.
