Pedestrian dead after being hit by vehicle in New Westminster parking lot

A woman has died after a collision in a parking lot in New Westminster, police say.

The woman was walking in the lot, located on Boyd Street near Howes, just before 5 p.m., when she was hit, the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) says.

“The pedestrian was transported to hospital, and investigators learned that the person had died,” it said.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
