A section of the Coquihalla Highway/Highway 5 has reopened with single-lane alternating traffic after it was closed in both directions due to a semi-truck fire just south of Merritt Friday evening, DriveBC said Saturday morning.

The 3.5 kilometre stretch between Jackman Flats and Tete Jaune Access roads is affected.

This came just hours after a section of Highway 5 between Hope and Merritt reopened following an unrelated closure due to a wildfire.
