The warmest day so far this year is coming right in time for the long weekend.
The early forecast shows Victoria Day Monday could be the hottest day of the year so far with highs reaching 28 C in the GTA. The warmest day we’ve had so far was back on April 14 when Toronto hit 23.8 C
It follows a very warm weekend. On Friday, Toronto is expected to see a high of 20 C with sunshine.
On Saturday, we could see a few midday showers in the GTA. This will also come with a thunderstorm risk between approximately 1pm and 5pm where heavy downpours could occur. Temperatures will continue to climb with a high of 22 C. The sunshine will return on Sunday with a high of 23 C.

Overnight temperatures will also remain in the low double digits through the weekend.
On Victoria Day, we could see some morning cloud with the high expected to reach 28 C, the highest temperature we’ve seen this year so far, with humidity making it feel into the low 30s. But that warm temperature could quickly be surpassed with the forecasted high being 29 C on Tuesday, with a humidex near 35.
Parts of cottage country to the north could even register their first 30 degree day of the year on Monday. All of these temperatures will be significantly cooler near any body of water.
The warm and muggy temperatures will come crashing down late Wednesday as a cold front come through. By next Thursday temperatures will be back to below seasonal for the rest of the week.
