Streetcar service along three TTC routes has resumed regular service following an overhead power outage caused by a derailment downtown.

The streetcar derailment, which happened at Dundas Street West and Bathurst Street during the Thursday morning rush hour, impacted service on the 505 Dundas, 506 Carlton and 511 Bathurst routes.

Police had closed the eastbound and westbound lanes of Dundas at Bathurst and southbound Bathurst at Dundas as crews worked to repair the overhead wires.

During the height of the rush hour, shuttle buses were running as streetcars along the routes were diverted in the area.

In an update just before 11 a.m., police said the derailed streetcar has since been moved out from the intersection.

The affected lanes on Dundas and Bathurst have since reopened. The TTC said the 505, 506 and 511 routes have resumed regular service.

The transit agency said it is still investigating how the derailment occurred, but adds that no injuries were reported.
