Toronto police say a man has died in hospital after being stabbed at an apartment in East York on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at a complex in the Woodbine Avenue and O’Connor Drive area at around 2:30 p.m.

The adult male victim was located at the scene and rushed to the hospital by paramedics in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have identified the man as 34-year-old Dwight Langille of Toronto.

A 17-year-old male was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, his name cannot be released.

Toronto police Insp. Brian Maslowski said that the suspect and victim were known to each other, but wouldn’t say if they were related.

“We have officers that are combing the crime scene, and we are gathering evidence,” he said.

“If someone was in the area at around 2:30 p.m. and they have information, they saw or heard anything, please contact our officers at 55 Division.”
