Environment Canada has issued a yellow rainfall warning for Toronto and parts of the GTA, with 20 to 40 mm expected on Saturday.

“A Colorado low will bring rain to the area Saturday, beginning with periods of rain during the day,” the national weather agency wrote in a statement. “The heaviest rain is expected to fall Saturday evening and Saturday night, with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.”

Federal meteorologists say rainfall will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.

“Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times,” they added.

The soggy Saturday preceded an unseasonably warm day on Friday, where temperatures climbed to 21°C.
