
A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Rotary Park in Bowmanville.
Durham police say they were called to the area of Queen and Temperance streets around 5:30 a.m. after the victim of a stabing flagged down a passing motorist who then called 911.
The victim was near Rotary Park when he was allegedly stabbed multiple times by another man.
Officers arrived on the scene and provided life-saving care.
The victim was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
Shortly after, the suspect was found in the area of Liberty Street South and Prince Street where he was taken into custody.
Theadore Joseph Hall, 65, of Clarington has been charged with aggravated assault, possess weapon dangerous, assault with a weapon, theft under $5,000, and possess property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He was held for a bail hearing.
