Female pedestrian injured following Mississauga hit-and-run; driver arrested

Peel Regional Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision in Mississauga that left a female pedestrian injured late Monday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Dixie Road and Burnhamthorpe Road just after 11 a.m. for reports of a multi-vehicle crash. Police say one of the vehicles involved — a pickup truck — fled the scene before officers arrived.

A pedestrian, later confirmed to be a woman, was struck during the collision and was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition. In an update, police said her injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening.

Authorities said the driver of a pickup truck who initially fled the scene was taken into custody on Monday afternoon.
