Durham police arrest suspect in stabbing at Pickering GO station

Durham Regional Police have arrested a suspect in a stabbing that took place at the Pickering GO station on Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the station at 1322 Bayly St. at around 12:05 a.m. on July 28 for reports of an armed person.

Investigators say the victim was walking to their car in the parking lot when they were approached and stabbed.

Police have not revealed if the suspect and victim were known to each other.

Investigators say the suspect, later identified as Corey Voskamp, 30, of no fixed address, fled northbound prior to police arrival.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In an update, Durham police said they located Voskamp and arrested him on Thursday morning.

“On Thursday, July 31, 2025, at approximately 9:40 a.m., officers from Central East Division responded to a suspicious person call in the area of John Street West and Nassau Street,” Durham police said in a release. “Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody without incident.”

Voskamp now faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possess weapon dangerous to public peace, and breach of probation.
