Police investigating hit-and-run in Brampton, man in critical condition

A 28-year-old man is in critical condition after a hit‑and‑run collision in Brampton early Monday.

Peel Regional Police (PRP) say the pedestrian was struck around 5:19 a.m. at Bovaird Drive West and McLaughlin Road.

It’s alleged a newer-model blue Toyota RAV4 was travelling northbound on McLaughlin Road when it made a right turn onto Bovaird Drive and hit the pedestrian who was crossing from the northside to the southside of the intersection.

The pedestrian was then struck by two other vehicles, both of which remained at the scene.

The Toyota RAV4 driver stopped briefly but then left the scene. An image of the suspect vehicle has been released.

The pedestrian, a 28‑year‑old man, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to hospital where he remains in life‑threatening condition.

All roads in the area have reopened, Peel police posted on X just after noon.

The Major Collision Bureau has taken over the case and is appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the crash.

Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam footage or information to contact Peel police.
