One woman was critically injured following a shooting at a Scarborough plaza on Thursday evening.
The Toronto Police Service (TPS) responded to reports of a shooting in the Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East area just after 8 p.m.
A woman in her 20s is in the hospital in critical condition. Police say she is expected to survive.
A TPS spokesperson told 680 NewsRadio the female victim was involved in a dispute between two groups when gunshots were fired, striking her. It’s unclear if she was the intended target.
Investigators say they have one person in custody and are looking for additional suspects who may have fled in a vehicle.
TPS told CityNews that the shooting is separate from an earlier incident that occurred nearby, in the Kennedy Road and Bonis Avenue area.
