Police identify victim in fatal east end stabbing, suspect at large

Toronto police have identified a man who was fatally stabbed at a plaza in the Danforth and Coxwell avenues area on Tuesday night just after 11 p.m.

Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane, 36, was pronounced dead in hospital after an emergency run.

He is the city’s 16th homicide victim of the year.

Investigators say Pournasir-Roudbane was involved in an altercation with another man behind the plaza, where he was fatally stabbed.

The suspect, wearing dark clothing and a black face covering, was seen fleeing the area.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have video surveillance or dash camera footage to contact investigators.
