Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) are appealing to homeowners in Kitchener and Cambridge after a pair of residential break-ins last week.
Police believe the first break-in occurred around 11:30 a.m. April 16 in the Highgrove Court and Dickie Settlement Road, an area of Cambridge.
It was less than an hour later, a home was broken into in the Robert Ferrie and Thomas Slee drives area of Kitchener. During that incident, police say the homeowner returned with the suspects still in the home. That scared them off, and they fled on foot.
Police admit to 570 NewsRadio that they have very little information to work from. They’re not even sure how many suspects they’re looking for.
They have issued a call to homeowners in the areas around the break-ins to check Ring or security camera footage for anything that may be useful to investigators.
The appeal has gone out to residents on Robert Ferrie Dr., Thomas Slee Dr., Pieter Vos Dr., and Blair Creek Dr. to look at their footage between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on April 16.
Police say the suspects were seen running on foot and attempting to change clothes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 519-570-9777, extension 8255.
