A big development could generate big discussion at Monday’s council meeting in Waterloo.

Council is hosting an informal public meeting about a project that could see five high-rise towers between 37 and 41 storeys tall, going up at 170 and 180 Columbia St. W., near Phillip Street.

The development would include 2,438 dwelling units, with commercial and retail space on the ground floor, according to documentation posted on EngageWR.

There would be 587 structured parking spaces for vehicles, and 1,605 spaces for bicycles.

The development would require a zoning change.

The meeting is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.

Also on the agenda are items about developments at the Barrel Yards, on Father David Bauer Drive, and for a subdivision on Conservation Drive.
