It’s an exciting time for Kitchener Rangers fans and players alike as three more Rangers were chosen on the second day of the NHL draft.

Those selected players include:

  • Forward Luca Romano taken in the 3rd round, 74th overall, by the New York Islanders
  • Defenceman Andrew MacNiel taken in the 6th round, 189th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens
  • Forward Matthew Hlacar taken in the 7th round, 217th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs

In the first day of the draft, Rangers defenceman Cameron Reid was selected 21st overall by the Nashville Predators.

Reid became the highest Kitchener Rangers draft pick since Radek Faksa, who was selected 13th overall in 2012 by the Dallas Stars.

Kitchener has seen 22 NHL prospects selected in the last ten drafts and a total of 175 players picked by NHL teams since 1966.
