Regional police shut down bicycle 'chop shop' in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have shut down a local bicycle chop shop at a residence in Kitchener.

The investigation began on June 26 when police located a stolen bike inside a residence in the King Street West and Green Street area. Numerous other bicycles and parts were then located during a search warrant at a nearby residence.

As part of the investigation, police managed to recover over $25,000 worth of stolen bikes and parts.

The investigation is ongoing and members of the Direct Action Response Team will be attempting to return the bikes and parts to their rightful owners.
