Regional police investigate Waterloo assault

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an assault in Waterloo’s university district.

Police were called to King St. North and Young St. around 12:45 a.m. Monday, on reports of an assault at a business.

Officers arrived and found an unconscious 62-year-old man suffering a head injury.

The man was transported to local hospital. His injuries are considered serious.

Police have not released the victims name and his condition is unknown at this time.

WRPS Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
