Your Kitchener Rangers are one win away from the OHL Finals.

On Friday night, the Windsor Spitfires will head to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium for Game 5 in the Western Conference Finals against the Rangers.

The Blueshirts earned a dominant win in Game 4 at the WFCU Centre, 6-3, the final in favour of Kitchener. Special teams played a significant factor in the game, as the Rangers scored twice on the power play and twice shorthanded en route to the win.

If the Rangers can clinch a victory on Friday, they’ll win their first Wayne Gretzky Trophy and trip to the OHL Finals since 2008.

The Eastern Conference Finals are still in action, with the Barrie Colts forcing Game 6 in a 4-3 overtime victory on Thursday. The Brantford Bulldogs still lead that series 3-2, with a trip to the Sadlon Arena in Barrie coming up on Saturday.

If the Rangers fail to pick up a win on Friday, the series will shift back to the Rose City for Game 6 on Sunday. A potential Game 7 would take place on Monday.

The OHL Finals are set to begin on Wednesday, May 6.

You can hear all the action on 570 NewsRadio with Mike Farwell and Josh Piercey. Friday’s pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m.
