Waterloo regional police have had a keen eye on two main corridors in Cambridge, with a focus on retail thefts.
Through February and March, investigators have focused on businesses being targeted on Hespeler Road and Franklin Boulevard.
Over the two months, 37 retail thefts were investigated, with 75 charges laid.
That included 57 theft related charges, some of which involved suspected repeat offenders.
“The initiative resulted in significant enforcement outcomes and strengthened partnerships with local businesses,” read a release from police.
“A key focus of the operation was addressing repeat and organized theft activity.”
The initiative also dove into what police call “coordinated criminal behaviour,” with two incidents believed to be connected to organized crime.
