Waterloo regional police say they have charged a man who was making threats while wielding a weapon in Kitchener.
Police started receiving calls just before 8:30 a.m. Monday due to reports of a man with an edged weapon yelling threatening remarks at people in the Kent Avenue and Charles Street East area.
No one was injured and responding officers located a man nearby, who was placed under arrest.
A 35-year-old from Waterloo has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police continue to investigate the incident and are asking any witnesses to contact them.
