It’s the last major holiday of summer vacation, as the Labour Day long weekend gets set to arrive in Waterloo Region.

With the holiday marking the turn from August to September, it’s one of the last opportunities to enjoy the summer sun before autumn makes its 2025 debut.

The good news is, there’s plenty of sunshine and warmer weather in the forecast, with temperatures expected to kick up to 24 C by Sunday.

Keep an eye on the roads, though, and expect some traffic delays throughout the region, as move-in weekend is set to be underway across those local colleges and universities, lasting through to Sunday.

There’s plenty to keep in mind heading into the long weekend, with a series of closures and changes to watch out for that could impact your weekend in Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo and the townships.
