Lederhosen and dirndl-donners will have a new zesty treat to go alongside their pretzels and sausages this Oktoberfest, as Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest announces a new partnership – and a new official mustard for this year’s celebrations.
The organization has announced they’ll be “turning up the heat”, working alongside the Great Canadian Sauce Company (TGSC Co.) to launch the mustard for K-W Oktoberfest 2025, offering a “spicier, zestier take on the traditional Bavarian condiment.”
In a release sent to 570 NewsRadio, Founder of TGCS Co. and Olympic Gold Medalist Donovan Bailey said his company is “thrilled” to bring their signature spice to this year’s Oktoberfest celebrations, calling it the “perfect pairing of Canadian boldness and Bavarian charm.”
The TGCS Co. Oktoberfest mustard is made with Canadian ingredients, and will be featured this year at the Willkommen Platz, along with select Festhallen and community events throughout the festival – including GoatFest.
The official mustard of K-W Oktoberfest 2025 will also be made available at some retail locations and through the TGCS Co. online store. Limited edition jars can be found at “Hans Haus,” the Oktoberfest Pop Up shop in downtown Kitchener.
“We’re always looking for ways to keep the Festival fresh and exciting.” Tracy Van Kalsbeek, the executive director of K-W Oktoberfest, said. “Partnering with TGCS Co. allows us to offer something new and memorable to our guests – this mustard is a delicious nod to tradition with a modern twist.”
“We can’t wait for everyone to taste it!” she added.
This year’s K-W Oktoberfest Festival runs from Sept. 26 through to Oct. 18. You can review a list of all the festival has to offer here.
