
An Acton resident is facing an impaired driving charge that occurred while three children were in the car.
Wellington County OPP were conducting proactive patrol Thursday night when alerted to a motor vehicle displaying signs of impaired driving. The caller said the vehicle nearly struck and on-coming tractor trailer and landed in the curb, blocking a live lane of traffic.
Police say they started to received subsequent complaints regarding the same instance.
When officers attended the scene, police say they discovered three small children in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, 32-year-old Guillermina Baillet, from Acton, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
The driver had their licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused will appear in court in Guelph at a later date.
